Pak violates truce agreement, fires unprovoked on LoC in Poonch

 

JAMMU:  In yet another ceasefire violation incident, Pakistan today fired unprovoked on the Line of Control in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

   “Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 1015 hours in Poonch  sector along the Line of Control,” Defence spokesman here said.

    He said that Indian Army was retaliating strongly and effectively, “exchange of firing is still on.”

    Earlier on September 3, Pakistan violated truce agreement and fired unprovoked in Krishna Ghati sector along the Line of Control.

    On Aug 30 Pakistan violated ceasefire agreement and fired unprovoked in Nowshera sector.

    On Sept 1 a BSF jawan also attained martyrdom in sniper shot fired from across the border.

 Meanwhile on Aug 28 five civilians got injured as Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing and targeted forward Army posts and villages in Rajouri. (AGENCIES)
