Pak was never sincere for peace with India: Manyal

JAMMU, Oct 30: Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, J&K BJP general secretary and former Minister, in a statement, said that India has always been working for cordial and friendly relations with Pakistan but this neighbouring country never displayed sincerity to maintain peace. He said that peace on borders and within its territorial areas has remained a priority for India but unfortunately Pakistan never allowed peace to prevail, which is also against the spirit of good neighbours.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, while appreciating the Indian security forces for successful operations against the infiltration bids and eliminating the intruders, said that killings of their trained terrorists have frustrated Pakistan and it has started firing on Indian posts along the International Border and also targeting the civilian areas. Despite agreements on ceasefire between two countries, Pakistan has been indulging in violations time and again.
The former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee had publicly acknowledged that “we can change our friends but not neighbours” which meant that two neighbour countries must live in friendly atmosphere for progress and prosperity, he said.
“History stands witness that Vajpayee extended a hand of friendship with Pakistan and went to Lahore in a bus with the hope that good sense will prevail and our neighbour understands the need and importance of peaceful co- existence of both nations”, Dr. Manyal said and added that unfortunately India had to face Kargil.
The former Minister said that there had been peace along borders after Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister as the Government had made it clear that dialogue and bullets can’t go together. But suddenly Pakistan started firing and making attempts of infiltration few days ago, maybe Pakistani rulers want to escape the wrath of its citizens who have developed anger and resentment and divert their attention from its failures on various fronts.
Dr. Manyal warned Pakistan not to disturb peace in India, failing which it will have to face consequences as the present Government under PM Modi is capable enough to teach a lesson.
