Srinagar, June 15: Pakistani wives of former militants today protested and demanded that they should be given travel documents and identity as they did not come back here on their own.
Scores of such women assembled in the Press Enclave and alleged that the Government has done nothing to help their families. They said that the UT Govt was not issuing them travel documents to return to Pakistan.
They said that since 2012 they are appealing the Government to do something for them as they had assured them a proper rehabilitation when Omar Abdullah was the Chief Minister, but to no avail
They said that more than 15 years have passed now, but not a single document was ever given to them by the government.
The protestors have appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allow them to return to Pakistan or provide them with the facilities required for them to settle here.
