Pakistan is only giving ‘impression’ of banning JuD: Lt Gen Hooda

JAMMU : Northern Command Army Commander Lt Gen D S Hooda today said Pakistan is only giving an ‘impression’ of banning Jamaat-ud-Dawa militant outfit but situation on the ground is completely different.
“There is no change with context to terrorism in Pakistan and banning of JuD is only an impression to dodge the outer world,” Gen Hooda told reporters on the sidelines of Nowshera Day celebrations in Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district. The GOC-in-C said JuD chief Hafiz Saeed was freely moving in Pakistan and the terror infrastructure was very much intact across the border.
“JuD is still very much existing in Pakistan and Hafiz Saeed is operating it,” he said.
On ISIS, the General said there was no threat in J&K and ‘youth joining militant outfit is also worrisome and we need to take some steps in preventing it.’
He added that the Army has inputs of youth joining militancy and the civil administration can be of great help. However, on withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act, Gen Hooda said the decision has to be taken by the union government and the Army has to submit only its recommendations when asked for.
