Pakistan’s anti-narcotics force seizes over 100 kg of drugs

Islamabad, Oct 16: Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted multiple operations in different areas of the country, seizing over 100 kg of drugs and arresting three smugglers, the ANF said on Monday.
During the anti-narcotics operations, the ANF seized drugs including heroin, hashish, opium, crystal methamphetamine, and others, the ANF said in a statement.
The ANF team conducted operations in various districts of the country’s Balochistan province and seized 65 kg of drugs while arresting a smuggler, according to the statement.
In the provincial capital city of Quetta, 30 kg of hashish concealed in the doors of a vehicle was recovered, the ANF said, adding that around 35 kg of narcotics concealed for the purpose of smuggling were seized in Chagai and Kach districts of the province.
In another operation at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, the ANF recovered 180 g of crystal methamphetamine from a parcel booked for Dubai.
Separately, authorities recovered 24.8 kg of hashish from the possession of two smugglers on a highway in Karachi.
The ANF said that separate cases have been registered against the accused while further investigations are underway.
