JAMMU, Dec 13: Jogwan Police arrested a Panch along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information about smuggling of illicit liquor, a team from Jogwan Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a man, who was a Panch of village Dhakher.
During checking, police team recovered 15 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the Panch arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Rattan Lal, son of Gallabu Ram, a resident of Ward Number 4 Dhakhar Tehsil Kharah Bali.
A case under FIR Number 63/2020 under Section 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered against the arrested Panch at Police Station Khour and investigation started.
Police warned that anyone found in possession or selling of liquor in violation of Election Commission guidelines and Excise Act shall be dealt sternly under law.
