RAMBAN, May 28: Bodies of Panch of Ward number 1 of Panchayat Rakhjadokh in Batote along with his five year old daughter, who allegedly committed suicide, were not traced so far while they were reported missing since last afternoon.
Police sources said Panch Purshotam Lal, 32, son of Sham Lal, resident of Rakhjadokh, falling under Police Station Batote in Ramban district, allegedly committed suicide along with his five years old daughter Rohni Devi by jumping into Baglihar reservoir in Dharmoond, Panchayat of Batote, 3 km from his residence Rakhjadokh.
Police said some belongings of Purshotam Kumar including a mobile phone, a pair of sleepers and lighter were found from the bank of the reservoir.
Police received the missing information regarding the Panch and his daughter on Sunday morning.
According to Police and locals, Purshotam was depressed after the death of his wife few months back. Rohini was also not normal and the Panch also had a son.
It is suspected he along with his minor daughter have jumped into Baglihar reservoir.
Police along with local QRT and SDRF were searching for both in the reservoir till late Sunday evening.
Dy.SP Headquarters Ramban, Pardeep Singh Sen said that search operation was suspended for night but will resume in morning.
