KATHUA, June 19: Protesting Panch of Panchyat Pathwal of Block Hiranagar, Surwsh Sharma suspended his fast unto death today on which he was sitting in the premises of BDO Office, Hiranagar for last six days in support of the demand to initiate impartial enquiry into development works undertaken in the Panchyat Pathwal.
After a joint meeting of SDM Hiranagar, District Panchyat Officer, BDC member was held at Hiranagar today, the officials approached the protesting Panch at dharna site and appealed him to call off his fast unto death as most of the demands have been fulfilled. They offered a glass of juice to Panch, Suresh Sharma and he called off the fast unto death.
The official team said that an impartial enquiry would be held to probe the allegation made by both the parties including protesting Panches and Sarpanch. They said that till the enquiry time, the Sarpanch will not execute his powers and all the works are withheld till enquiry is complete.
