JAMMU, Mar 20: Welcoming the Governor’s decision to hold Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in the State , former Deputy Chief Minister and Senior Congress leader, Tara Chand asked people to participate in these polls so that the problems faced by the masses at the grass root level can be addressed.
He was addressing a rally at Indri Manchak near Jhorian in Khour Constituency today. Villagers from over 50 villages participated in the rally where the local Sarpanchs and Panchs organised a procession up to Jhorian demanding redressal of the day-to-day problems being faced by border villagers.
The locals on motorbikes, matadoors and cars held a rally from Indri Manchak to Jhorian along with former Dy CM Tara Chand and other Congress leaders.
