UDHAMPUR, Dec 27: Chairman of the Team Jammu Zorawar Singh Jamwal today said that Pancheri-Mongri has huge potential to be developed as a famous tourist and religious tourist destination but successive Governments ignored this belt due to reasons best known to them.
Jamwal was addressing a huge public gathering at Pancheri to celebrate victory of young and dynamic Jasvir Singh as member of the District Development Council (DDC). He said residents of Pancheri-Mongri have set an example for the whole J&K by electing the youngest DDC member who is committed to serve the people with dedication.
“Jasvir Singh’s election is going to be a milestone in the future politics of J&K in general and Jammu region in particular as people of this hilly belt have created a history by rejecting traditional political parties and elected Jasvir Singh, who has emerged victorious as Independent candidate,” highlighted Zorawar Singh.
The Team Jammu chairman said Pancheri-Mongri belt can be developed as ideal tourist destination by mobilizing pilgrims to visit the most revered religious places situated in this hilly region, he said and exuded confidence that Jasvir Singh will come-up to the expectations of the people of this backward and neglected belt.
Pointing towards non-availability of basic infrastructure in this belt, Team Jammu chief said that deplorable conditions of the roads is an indication of a discriminatory policy being adopted by the ruling elites in the development of this region.
In his address, Jasvir Singh said that he would leave no stone unturned till Pancheri-Mongri DDC gets its due share in development, be it upgrading education and health care infrastructure or developing scenic tourist spots of that area.
“There will be no place for corrupt practices and everyone would be made accountable. Equitable development of all the Panchayats of Pancheri-Mongri, DDC, would be my sole target, in this new era,” vowed young Jasvir Singh.
