SRINAGAR, Mar 9: A number of Panchs as well as Sarpanchs, today staged a protest against the authorities for making the people suffer by decreasing the number of cases allocated to them under the PM Awas Yojana.
The Panchs as well as sarpanchs from Nowgam Sonawari in Bandipora appeared in the Press Enclave and said that around 109 cases under the scheme were allocated to them under the scheme, however, they alleged that for unknown reasons the number was reduced to just 46.
“There were around 109 cases allocated to us under the PM Aawas Yojana. The teams from the concerned department came and carried out the survey as per rules and regulations,” Shabir Hyder one of the Sarpachs said while adding that what happened after that was could not be comprehended.
The protestors said that they were finally told that the number of allocated cases have remained only 46.
“We were not told the reasons, and for this, we met the Deputy Commissioner as well as the Director ULB, but to no avail,” they said.
They urged the authorities to look into the matter so that the people do not suffer.
