Pandach residents without drinking water for last 6 months

Srinagar, Apr 23: Residents of Shah-i- Hamdan Colony, Pandach today said that they are facing a shortage of drinking water for last at least six months due to which they are facing immense hardships.
The residents said that they approached the concern officials of the concerned departments but to no avail.
They said that the drinking water is available during early morning hours for a shorter span of time and the rest of the time their tapes remain dry.
“We have to spare water in the buckets so that all our family members can wash their faces and get ready for the schools and sometimes our kitchen utensils go unwashed,” Shakeela, a resident of the area said.
“The posh areas where top functionary of the Government resides is having round the clock water supply while the common people like us have to face water shortage all the time,” she added.
“We have made a representation in front of the concerned but to date nothing has been done,” Mehraj ud Din, another resident said.
The residents have appealed to Lt Governor to look into the matter as the absence of drinking water is making them suffer amid lockdown.
