Pandits decide to come under one umbrella

JAMMU, Oct 14: Cutting across their affiliations with parties and groups prominent Kashmiri Pandits have called for unity of all their community members in order to forcefully project their genuine issues including present crisis of insecurity among minorities in Kashmir to draw the attention of Central/ UT J&K authorities to address their grievances and other pertinent problems being faced by them.
In a press communique issued today, a meeting of prominent KP leaders, social activists and intellectuals was held at Jagti township last evening to discuss and deliberate up on present crisis which has emerged out from Kashmir and other genuine problems being faced by the displaced community for last over 30 years after their forceful exodus.
The meeting, which was organized by M.K.Yogi as chief organizer and presided over by Professor A.N.Sadhu was also attended by over 60 prominent social activists from Jammu and Udhampur .All the speakers in unanimity emphasised on the need for setting up of a Apex Coordination Committee of various KP groups with in J&K and outside to forcefully project their problems and aspirations before UT and Central authorities.
Prof A.N.Sadhu, M.K.Yogi , M.K.Bangroo, Anil Dhar , Vinod Pandita, P.L.Thusoo, Sunil Pandita, Sunil Bhat, Ashwani Bhat ,  Payare Lal, Priya Bhat , Mrs. Chandra Ji, Mrs.Dazy Bhat, Sunil Wattal, A.Dhar ,  Sanjay Dhar, Shadi Lal Tickoo, Bushan Lal , Desh Rattan Pandita and others  while speaking on the occasion in one voice  condemned the selective and target killing of minorities in Kashmir and expressed deep sympathies with the bereaved families. They also emphasised that the main leadership for projecting the main issues of Kashmiri Pandits should emerge from Jammu where more than 3.5 lakh Kashmiri Pandits are living in camps/non camps and appealed to those who are trying to hijack Kashmiri Pandit affairs from outside J&K for coordination & cooperation with J&K leadership. They also appealed to Government to ensure safety and security to all minority working or living in Kashmir on priority basis.
