Pandits have unending desire for return to Kashmir: Sethi

JAMMU, Nov 26: BJP national vice president, Yudhvir Sethi today said that ever since Kashmiri Pandits left their homes in Kashmir, they had been struggling to stay connected to their roots, which reveals their never ending desire to return.
“I am a witness to the fact that several young boys and girls have taken their parents to Kashmir and visited their homes only to stay connected to their roots which indicated their never ending urge to return to their homes”, he said.
Sethi was addressing a gathering of district youth Executive Body of displaced Kashmiri Pandits here today. He said, while Government is making every possible effort to ensure safe return of Kashmiri Pandits to their homes, efforts at individual level are also appreciable.
The role of youth in restoring normalcy is utmost important, he said, adding that Kashmir and its composite culture can never be complete with out Kashmiri Pandits and youth can play a major role in State’s socio-economic progress while staying  in Kashmir.
Today when young boys and girls from Pandit community are working at top positions in world their heart beats for Jammu and Kashmir which encourages us all to ensure their return to their homes and this is a fact which is also recognised by majority community in Kashmir, he said.
He said Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is keen to see Kashmiri Pandits return to their homes and every effort is being made towards this end. Protection of shrines and temples like Kheerbhawani are on top priority of Government and every year elaborate arrangements are made for annual pilgrimage, he added.
MLC G L Raina in his address said that the kind of effort Government is putting in, individuals and organisations from all sections of society should also work collectively to return of peace and normalcy in Kashmir.
He said that BJP is an organisation that works for society irrespective of it being in power. This is most democratic political organisation where dynastic rule doesn’t persist and anyone can reach any position irrespective of his cast, creed, region or religion.
He asked youth to strengthen party at all levels and take Government’s programmes and policies amongst masses. Others who were present included District President KDD Chand Ji Bhat, State office secretary Abhishek Singh Salathia and President youth Romesh Ji Koul.
