JAMMU, Oct 1: All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) has criticized both State and Central Governments for ignoring the plight of displaced Pandits from Valley leading an exiled life for last 26 years in different parts of the country.
The Committee in a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of Desh Rattan said the claims of successive Governments at Delhi and in the State on rehabilitation of Pandits in their homeland have totally proved hollow.
He said Government should establish its writ in Kashmir and ensure the honorable and dignified rehabilitation of Pandits in their homeland as per the aspirations of the community.
The meeting said that PM’s employment package was a cruel joke with the community while the Government has failed to establish the shrine Board for protection of religious properties of Pandits in Valley, safeguard the left over properties of the community and restore their homeland to them.
The meeting also took a dig at Pakistan PM Nawaz Shairef for his statement in UN that Kashmiris be made a party to Kashmir issue and said that Pandits who are the aborigines of Kashmir and were the worst victims of terrorism be made the main party to Kashmir issue.
The meeting warned that AMCCC will march to Union Capital to hold demonstration there against the callousness of Government towards the displaced people. R N Dhar, Mr KV, Daleep Pandita, S K Bhat and others addressed the meeting.
