Pandits perform Bumi Pooja

SRINAGAR, Sept 12: Bumi Pooja was performed at the ancient holy Nag (spring) in the Durga Nag Temple premises as per the traditional Vedic rituals today.
Professor Satish Raina, President Mandir Valley Committee and Chief Executive Advisor Shree Durga Nag Trust, said that the Sanatorium the original holy spring with original arcs, around more than 700 years old was discovered recently about a month ago by the devotees of Shree Durga Nag Sewa Dal.
“The particular space had been rented out about more than 15-20 years by the trust for a petty rent and was being used as a junk yard,” he said.
In a statement Raina said that Bumi Puja is a ceremony performed to inaugurate a new site for the construction of a house, commercial building, temple, etc.
