KISHTWAR, Aug 28: The people from Bhagna area and adjoining hamlets in Nagseni block of Kishtwar are suffering badly due to worst condition of this PMGSY Road.
A local of the area, Deepak Thakur said this 9 km road which was constructed in 1970s was taken over by PMGSY during 2006. The agency did some earth work and abandoned the road there after. Now, the condition of the road has turned so worst that even people are unable to walk on- foot.
In case of medical emergency or shifting a pregnant woman to hospital at Kishtwar, the people have to move on foot for 9 km stretch up to Kishtwar-Paddar road at Pandyarna. He said the locals of the area took up the matter with the concerned Legislator and even the district administration Kishtwar several times but nobody bothered to minimize the sufferings of the public of this remote area.
The locals have urged upon the Lt Governor and concerned advisor to intervene and issue directions to the Chief Engineer PMGSY Jammu to improve road to this village.
