Panel for deployment during polls

JAMMU, Mar 10: The State Government today constituted a high level Committee headed by K Rajendera Kumar, Special DG Co-ordination, Police Headquarters for co-ordination and liaison in deployment of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) and State Armed Police/Indian Reserve Police battalion in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the State.
The Committee had been named as `State Level Co-ordination Group’.
With Mr Rajendera as the Convenor, the Committee comprised IG CRPF Jammu, IG CRPF (Operations) Kashmir, IG BSF Jammu, IG BSF Kashmir, IGP Kashmir, IGP Jammu, DIG Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), DIG Shastra Seema Bal (SSB), DIG Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Commandant Railways Protection Force (RPF).
The Government has ordered that the State Level Co-ordination Group would co-ordinate in deployment of CAPFs/SAPs/IR battalions during Lok Sabha elections, ensure timely de-induction and assist in making arrangements for accommodation, transport and other logistics to the security forces.
The Group has been constituted in response to the guidelines of the Election Commission, official sources said.
