JAMMU, Nov 26: The Government today constituted a committee for preparing and suggesting a holistic framework for strengthening the governance mechanism of selected tourist destinations in the Union Territory.

The committee shall suggest a roadmap for strengthening the governance structures of selected Tourism Development Authorities while keeping in consideration the issues from past learning and financial viability.
It shall suggest limiting the role of Government to basic/essential infrastructural requirements for supporting development while facilitating private developers subject to strict, fair and transparent enforcement of regulations.
Headed by Administrative Secretary of Finance Department, the committee comprises Administrative Secretaries of the Departments of H&UD, Tourism, Planning, Revenue, Law and Forest.
