Panel to look into compensation to Tramboo Poultry

SRINAGAR, Dec 3: Government today formed a three-member committee to access the physical possession of an industrial premise by the paramilitary forces in Parigam area of the district Pulwama along with the compensation recommended by the District Level Committee.
An order in this regard was issued by the General Administration Department which directed that the committee with also assess the criteria adopted for recommending payment to the tune of Rs. 111.04 lakhs by the District Level Committee.
The committee will be headed by the Secretary, Industries and Commerce with DIG, SKR Anantnag and a representative of Ministry of Home Affairs as members.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of a Committee to assess the actual period of physical possession of the premises, extent of damage caused to industrial unit M/S Tramboo Poultry Products, Parigam, Pulwama during the period of its occupation by the para-military forces and criteria adopted for recommending payment to the tune of Rs. 111.04 lakhs by the District Level Committee, constituted in terms of Government Order No. 447-GAD of 2000 dated 22.04.2000,” the order read.
While detailing the terms of reference, the order stated the committee will reconcile the facts and figures regarding the actual period of physical possession of the premises, along with the total area, by the Central Reserve Police Force and the extent of damage caused to the plant and machinery.”
The committee, as per the order, will also determine “the amount of compensation payable to the proprietor of M/S Tramboo Poultry Products Industrial Unit, inter-alia, mentioning the criteria adopted for arriving at the quantum of amount payable.”
The Committee has been directed to submit its report to the Industries and Commerce Department with a copy to the Home Department, within a period of one month.
Tramboo Poultry Products Private Limited is a Private incorporated on 12 March 1986. It is involved in Production, processing and preservation of meat, fish, fruit vegetables, oils and fats.
It was occupied by security forces in early 1990s. The company later asked the government that it should be paid compensation for occupying the factory and damages caused to it.
