India’s ace cueist Pankaj Advani notched up his seventh straight win at the 28th Asian Snooker Championships, when he blanked Ahmed Saif of Qatar 4-0 to enter the quarterfinals in Doha today.
Pankaj had earlier blanked Ebrahim Alsharrah of Kuwait 4-0 to enter the play-offs as the top seeded player, following his unbeaten run in the tournament.
The seven-time world champion will now face the winner of the match between Ehsan Heydari of Iran and Lim Chun Kiat of Singapore in the quarters.
Pankaj is looking to continue his winning streak at the championships while keeping a clear eye on a possible historical win, aiming to secure a double Asian Championship win in Billiards and Snooker in a single year.
Another Indian, Aditya Mehta also made it to the last-eight, defeating Mohd Shehab of the UAE 4-0. (PTI)
