JAMMU, July 28: Panun Kashmir (PK) has expressed grave concern over the recent incidents of violence in Kashmir Valley directed against the minority community.
In a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, the members said that the situation in the Valley is worsening day by day. The recent attacks at Baltal, stone pelting on the holy shrine of Kheer Bhawani at Tullamula and disturbances at various other places of religious significance hinted towards the culture of intolerance and shrinking secular space in the Valley.
Alleging that the State Government has failed in its duties to check the proliferation of such tendencies in the Kashmir, the meeting said that the recent 500 cr package announced by the Union Government must be used immediately to ameliorate the sufferings of the displaced populace and also to improve their living conditions.
