Panun Kashmir organises ‘29th Margdarshan Divas’

JAMMU, Dec 28: Panun Kashmir organised the “29th Margdarshan Divas” here today.
It was on this day, 29 years back that the historical Margdarshan Resolution was adopted. This landmark resolution proved to be a loadstar for the displaced community who had to face exodus in their own country.
The well attended function was held under the chairmanship of the President, Panun Kashmir, Virender Raina. Upinder Kaul, General Secretary, Kamal Bagati,General Secretary (Org), Sameer Bhatt, Convenor PK Youth, Vimla Chrungoo, Secretary DOPK, Ashok Chrungoo, PK Bhan, Kewal Krishen and PK Durani were among others present on the occasion.
The function was inaugurated with lighting of the traditional lamp before the portrait of Sharda Mata.
Virender Raina, in his address said that a Special Crimes Tribunal needs to be established to enquire into the excesses, genocide and ethnic cleansing committed against the Hindu minorities of Kashmir in view of the pronouncement made by the National Human Rights Commission in 1999 in this regard.
“A Bill envisaging preservation, protection, promotion and management of Hindu temples and shrines in Kashmir be adopted by the UT legislature of Jammu and Kashmir in the immediate future. The recruitment of the youth of the displaced community, in order to fill up all 6,000 reserved posts in the Government, may be done without any further delay and in this connection, the administrative measures may be taken on priority”, he stated.
Upinder Koul said that the overage youth of the displaced community, who could not apply for the Government jobs, due to being over-aged, may be granted one-time compensation so that they are in a position to carry on their life in the valley of Kashmir with dignity and the required financial strength.
