Paramahansa Yogananda’s birth anniversary celebrated in Jammu Kendra

JAMMU, Jan 5: The 132nd birth anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi, was celebrated at the Yogoda Satsanga Dhyana Kendra at Udheywala, Jammu today.
The event also marked the centenary of the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS), founded by Yogananda in 1917. A large audience of 500 people attended the celebration.
The program began with a presentation on Yogananda’s life and his world mission.
Yogananda, born in 1893, established YSS to spread the teachings of Kriya Yoga, which aims to achieve higher consciousness and spiritual enlightenment.
Paramahansa Yogananda, born Mukunda Lal Ghosh, dedicated his life to spreading the message of spiritual unity and the science of meditation.
He founded YSS and the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) in the US to teach Kriya Yoga, which has influenced millions worldwide. His teachings continue to inspire people of all faiths to seek higher spiritual understanding.
Today, YSS has over 200 meditation centers and 4 ashrams across India and is a global organization with thriving monastic communities.
The session concluded with a guided meditation and prayer for global brotherhood and the well-being of loved ones. Many attendees shared they felt the positive effects of the session.
