Parents booked for ‘chaining’ minor boy in Madrasa

JAMMU, Oct 17: A picture of a minor boy in chains in a Madrasa here went viral on the social media today, prompting police to book the boy’s parents under Juvenile Act.
As per police sources, media persons made a beeline at the Madrasa in Bhatindi area. The picture of the boy with feet cuffed in chains has drawn the attention of the police as it went viral on social media.
During investigation, it was found that parents had put the boy in chains in bid to prevent him from running away from the Madrasa. The parents have been booked under Juvenile act.
The boy’s parents said they had chained their son as he was frequently running away from home and the Madrasa.
“I have chained my son as we were fed up with his running away from home and Madrasa frequently”, the boy’s mother told police.
