JAMMU, Oct 26: Gandeep Pargal has been elected as president while Anil Thappa as general secretary of All Jammu and Kashmir Graduate Engineers Association (Civil).
The election results of the Association were declared here today. Two office bearers were elected unopposed. The result notification was issued this afternoon by Des Raj, Superintending Engineer, R&B Jammu- Kathua Circle, who was Returning Officer for the election.
Giving details of the election process and results, Des Raj disclosed that only one nomination was received for the post of president whereas, two nominations were received for the post of general secretary. However today, the last date fixed for withdrawal of nominations, Neeraj Kumar withdrew his nomination thereby, paving the way for unanimous unopposed elections to both the posts of president as well as general secretary.
The Returning Officer along with other election commission members- Rajinder Sharma, Executive Engineer, Hydraulic, Rajan Mengi, Executive Engineer, R&B, DK Rampal, Executive Engineer, R&B and Mohd Taj Chowdhary, Executive Engineer, Hydraulic handed over the certificate of declaration to both the winning candidates.
B.L Dhar, Chief Engineer who was the observer of the whole election process, praised the election commission for smooth conducting of election.
Gandeep Pargal and Anil Thappa extended gratitude to the entire Graduate Engineers fraternity for the confidence reposed in them. A large number of engineers who were present on this occasion congratulated the newly elected president and general secretary.
