The nation-wide campaign, i.e., Pariksha Pe Charcha, an initiative by the Prime Minister of India to organise a friendly environment and bring together the students, teachers, and parents, through the medium of this initiative by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has not only enhanced students’ self-confidence but also helped them to remain, creative, competent, stress-free, healthy, physically fit, innovative and enthusiastic in their academic pursuits. According to this visionary programme of the Prime Minister, one should constantly have a stress-free attitude and take pleasure in the educational process, as it is a lifelong process. In this nationwide “Pariksha Pe Charcha” initiative, parents, teachers, and students from all around the country and abroad engage with the Prime Minister to talk about exam-related and post-school anxiety. An environment free from stress for pupils in the field of education is the goal of a larger programme spearheaded by the Prime Minister, named Pariksha Pe Charcha. Teachers, students, and parents are all part of this innovative movement. In addition to this, the Prime Minister is not only advising everyone to view exams realistically but also emphasising that they shouldn’t be seen as a life-or-death scenario marked by excessive strain and stress in academic pursuits. Instead of placing pressure on their children (students) to perform well academically, parents should concentrate on their holistic learning in education. Under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has made history with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
The National Education Programme (NEP) must be implemented, which calls for a number of coordinated efforts in a systematic manner. For the execution of the National Education Policy, it not only offers a range of guidelines, plans, schedules, and approaches for carrying them out but also needs a supportive atmosphere for children’s overall learning, which will be created by story-telling-based philosophy, art integration, and sports-integrated education. In addition to being enjoyable, education will help a youngster (students) develop holistically. Students are like seeds; every one has a distinct potential, and parents and educators are like gardeners, giving them the ideal conditions for development. The question that needs to be answered now is: how will the NEP 2020 be implemented? It is necessary to create this particular training course for parents as well as teachers. An online counselling programme is a good choice, although it needs to be included in the standard course curriculum. Child psychologists and counsellors must work one-on-one with sensitive students on a regular basis and offer required special sessions for all students on school premises. These professionals must be employed by every government as well as private schools. The social and ecological environment in which children live also shapes them, so now is the right moment to make improvements to that environment. The people they interact with have a big impact on their social behaviour. Parents should not only be made aware of this but should also be informed about it. Parental companionship with their children produces happy children. However, parental or any other disputes within a family have a negative impact not only on children but on their studies too. The current curriculum mostly relies on emphasising the intelligence quotient, or IQ. It is imperative that we incorporate the emotional quotient (EQ) component into our curriculum, with parents being an essential part of it. The behavioural code of the children (students) is composed of several elements that specialists need to dissect and decipher. It is not only the Pradhan Mantri Pariksha Pey Charcha goal but also society’s joint responsibility to celebrate Pariksha Parav annually. It’s a better idea to promote intelligent, active students than robotic devices. This will only be possible when children’s social surroundings and understandings are created to assist them holistically and to encourage and support the development of their inherent abilities. There is an immediate need. Lawmakers, parents, and educators are among the relevant factors who should take into account both nature and nurture. Now is the right moment to focus on numerous projects and variables related to students’ developing lifestyles.
Stress-free education.
Ensuring that education is a good, meaningful, and joyful experience for a student in his life is equally as vital as creating stress-free and child-friendly institutions of learning. All educational institutions must implement specific policies in order to foster a stress-free atmosphere. For aspiring students constructing their academic careers, some of these prompt actions may be beneficial.
Promotion of inclusive education.
The support of an educational system that not only fosters children’s creativity but also fosters their progress as a collective in the process of inclusive education. Inclusive education regardless of their physical activities, intellectual, social, emotional, linguistic, or other conditions. It involves children from different backgrounds and skill levels, which needs to be accommodated by developing a child-centred pedagogy that can effectively educate every child.
Promotion of Innovative methods for education and teaching.
In the sphere of education, Teachers and students who reside in rural and metropolitan cities will benefit from new and innovative ways to enhance online learning and teaching platforms for instructors as well as for teachers themselves. In order to remove obstacles and enhance learning and teaching for millions of teachers and students living around the nation, the enhanced new technologies related to the education will reinforce eLearning, e-teaching, and e-coaching.
Exchange programmes between states for teachers and students.
Student-teacher exchange initiatives will serve the primary purpose of enabling educators and learners to expand their horizons and experience new opportunities for learning as well as the teaching of others. This approach is a two-way process of instilling moral principles from both cultures, and it will foster respect for one another between teachers and students in states with diverse cultural backgrounds.
Anti Drugs Campaign.
A regular anti- drug awareness campaign for students in schools to raise awareness about the major challenge that illicit drugs represent to society as a whole, and especially to the children (students). The main goal of the campaign is to mobilise support and inspire students (youth) to act against illicit drug use.
Yoga classes for students.
The necessary steps for organising yoga classes for children (students) are to keep them active and healthy. Yoga classes for students on the school premises will improve memory, focus, creativity, etc. It may also fight against stress and anxiety, but it may also improve general health and flexibility.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Child Rights Commission is a statutory body inspired by this move of the Prime Minister of India and already celebrates “Pariksha Parav” annually. The commission is already working on and addressing issues related to the child with the aim of creating an atmosphere where children develop without any threat to their safety, security, or wellbeing and in the best interest of the children. The child rights commission is imperative to take the necessary steps in this regard and direct the concerned authorities to strongly implement the Prime Minister’s vision at the micro-level. It is also necessary for the commission to raise happy and smart kids, which shall be the goal of policymakers, teachers, and parents.
