* Lt Governor greets people

JAMMU, June 25: Parkash Parv of 6th Guru of Sikhs, Guru Hargobind Ji was today celebrated with great religious fervour and enthusiasm by the people across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Most of the Gurdwaras in the region were highly decorated and a large number of devotees thronged these religious places since early morning today and offered special prayers to seek blessings of the great Guru.

District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu organised main function in this connection today at Gurdwara Tali Sahib, Talab Tillo, Jammu. Taking all the precautions in view of Covid, the DGPC organised religious programme at the Gurdwara in better way.
Bhai Shokeen Singh, Hazuri Ragi Darbar Sahib Amritsar and local Ragis, Bhai Tarvinder Singh, Bhai Surinder Pal Singh and Ragi Jatha of Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch, Bhai Ramjeet Singh recited Gurvani Path.
Prominent Sikh preachers from J&K and chief of Dera Sant Pura Danna, Sant Tejwant Singh also addressed the religious gathering and threw light on the life and achievements of great Guru.
Former MLC, and Chairman J&K Gurdwara Parbandhak Board, T S wazir also addressed the gathering and greeted people on the occasion. He also referred to the burning issues of minority Sikh community in J&K.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included president, DGPC Jammu Jagjit Singh and general secretary, Fateh Singh.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib’s Prakash Parv.
In his message, the Lt Governor observed that sixth Sikh Guru, Sri Hargobind ji was the embodiment of devotion, selfless service, bravery, and sacrifice.
A great warrior, spiritual master and an epitome of compassion & benevolence, Guruji taught us to put our lives into meaningful service for the prosperity of society, added the Lt Governor.
Sri Guru Hargobind ji’s teachings are source of inspiration for all and his principles of humanity, secularism, and universal brotherhood would continue to guide the humankind on the path of righteousness, said the Lt Governor.
