JAMMU, July 5:  Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Hargobind ji Maharaj was celebrated across the State today.
The main function in this connection was organised at Gurdwara Chhathi Pathshahi, Talab Tillo, Jammu under the supervision of District Gurdawara Parbandhak Committee (Jammu). A large number of devotees attended this grand religious function.  Various Ragi Jathas  and Parcharaks from the State and outside participated in this program.  Gurdwara was highly decorated and the devotees started arriving early in the morning.
The speakers  threw light on the life and teachings of great Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. Prominent among the Ragi Jathas  and preachers included, educationist  Baljit Singh, Jugar Singh from Gurmat Missionary College Ropar, Punjab; Bhai Jasbir Singh Ragi Jatha Ponta Sahib (HP), Ragi Jatha Bhai Davinder Singh Sri Darbar Sahib ( Amritsar)  and Bhai Harmeet Singh from Makhanpur, RS Pura.
The other speakers  on the occasion included  T S Wazir, president State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board (J&K), Jagjit Singh president DGPC Jammu, Kuldeep Singh vice president DGPC  Jammu, Mohinder Singh-DGPC member,   Manmohan Singh cashier DGPC , Janak Singh, Surinder Singh ( Adv) member SGPB J&K Surjit Singh, Manjit Singh, Harmeet Singh president Gurdwara Nanak Nagar and Jagjit Singh president Gurdwara Kalgidar Rehari, Jammu.  The stage was conducted by  S Avtar Singh  Khalsa, general secretary DGPC Jammu.
Meanwhile, in connection with the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Hagobind Ji, Sikh community members from various districts including Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu, Udhampur, Srinagar, Baramulla offered special prayers at Gurdwaras  and celebrated the occasion with great enthusiasm and religious furvour.
