SRINAGAR, May 14: Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today visited JK Cement Factory Khrew and took stock of the facilities available in the unit.
He also got first hand appraisal about the problems and difficulties faced by the employees and workers working in the Corporation.
He went round various sections of the factory including Gauging laboratory, Analytical lab and kiln.
Earlier, the Managing Director JK Cements, Rakesh Sharma briefed the Minister about the activities of the Company through power point presentation. He said to ensure transparency, the Corporation has computerized all records and put it on its website. It was also given out that online sale facility is also available for the consumers.
The Minister directed the concerned for conducting of statuary audits upto March, 2015.
On the occasion, Mr. Ganga distributed appreciation certificates among some officials of the company for their outstanding performance during last year.
Later, the Minister inspected proposed site for establishment of income generating unit Pandrethan spread over 40 kanals of land and inquired about its latest status. He directed the concerned to start  work on the project.
The Minister also visited village Wyen and took stock of the land of the Corporation. He directed the management for utilizing of the said assets and come up with a comprehensive proposal for establishment of income generating units.
Interacting with the officers of the Corporation, the Minister said that the PDP-BJP Coalition Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed to upgrade all industrial units of the State. He said special focus will be given for upgradation of JK Cement Khrew during this year and by installing latest machineries he hoped that the Corporation will earn a good profit during next year.
Earlier, the workers put forth their demands and the Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their all genuine demands would be looked into on priority.
