JAMMU, Oct 31: Former Secretary Tourism, Government of India and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of India Tourism Development Corporation–the first and once-largest chain of hotels in India in private as well as Government sector Parvez Dewan takes over as Patron-in-Chief of Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra.
On the request of the Association, Dewan accepted to be the Patron-in-Chief. The letter of appointment was presented to Parvez Dewan by President of the Association Rakesh Wazir in presence of Chairman of the Association Shyam Lal Kesar, general secretary Harish Kumar Dubey, vice president Madan Aggarwal and other office bearers of the Association.
Wazir while speaking on the occasion said that Dewan’s patronage will prove to be an asset for the association, adding that association will try to get benefit from Parvez’s vast experience of the tourism line.
Kesar said that Tourism and Hotel Industry will always remain indebted to Dewan for starting all big festivals of State including Jammu Mela, Mansar Mela, Shiv Khori Mela, All India Devotional Song Competition, allotting 2 bridges to Shiv Khori, allocating 5 crores to Cheryai Kaga, 5 crore for Light and Sound programme at Katra, providing funds for water supply scheme for lifting of water from Jhajjar to Katra etc.
