Passage of Shrines Bill to act as major CBM: PNBMT

JAMMU, Dec 25: The exiled community is unanimous in the demand that all the political parties and the Government should get together and pass the Shrine Bill as a CBM to assure the minority of Kashmir that the powers are sincere in addressing their problems.
This was stated by the speakers in a series of meetings launched by Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust at Bohri, Bantalab, Muthi, Gangyal, Sharika Peeth Subash Nagar, Talab Tillo, etc. the general public also resolved to keep on the struggle till the Shrine Bill was passed and the vast temple heritage is preserved. They also hailed the Trust for keeping alive the memory of amar shahiid Prem Nath Bhat and other martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of the community and the nation.
The speakers at the meeting organized by Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust in connection with the Shrine Bill the focus of this year’s Chetna Divas to be observed on December, 27 complimented the PNBM Trust for having produced a lasting document of the temple heritage of Kashmir in the form of the book Hindu Shrines of Kashmir written by Dr R L Bhat.

The speakers reiterated that the struggle for the Shrine Bill spearheaded by PNBMT was the foremost consensus demand of the community. They also made it clear that there cannot be any dilution of the Bill. The members of PNBMT present in the meetings assured that the Bill does not in any way interfere with working of purohits at Mattan in their traditional work nor with any sadhu in the Puja in any of the temples and shrines. The speakers also expressed concern that the problems of the exiled community were being belittled and treated in an ad hoc manner. They impressed on the powers that be to be sensitive to the points raised by the community.
Speaking at the huge public meetings at Ban Talab, presided over by Prof A N Sadhu, Swami Kumarji spoke of the urgent need for the protection of the temples and shrines in Kashmir. the public welcomed the information given by Dr A N Pandita chairman of the Trust that the noted film personality Anupam Kher would be the chief guest at Chetna Divas 2015 and resolved to attend the day in large numbers.
