KATHUA, Aug 5: Patanjali Yog Samiti and Bharat Swabiman Trust, district Kathua today celebrated Herbal Day.
The Herbal Day celebrations were inaugurated by Dr Bharat Bhushan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua by distributing saplings of medicinal plants to the people.
The function was organized under the overall supervision and guidance of Kapoor Singh Jamwal, District president of Patanjali Yog Samiti, Kathua. Dr Vishal Malagar, District spokesperson of the Patanjali Yog Samiti conducted the proceedings.
Dr Bharat Bhushan, while speaking on the occasion appreciated the good work being done by Bharat Swabiman Trust and Patanjali Yog Samiti in district Kathua under its District Head, Kapoor Singh Jamwal.
While speaking on the occasion, Kapoor Singh Jamwal told the gathering that Patanjali Yog Samiti and Bharat Swabiman Trust has been celebrating “Jadi-Buti Diwas”(Herbal Day) every year on August 4 by planting and distributing medicinal plants so as to create awareness among the masses to adopt healthy life style which is safer, cheaper and eco friendly.
Sardar Hardev Singh Musaffir and Master Des Raj, both active members of Patanjali Yog Samiti, Range Forest Officer, Kathua Forest Division, Madhu Sharma, District president of Patanjali Mahila Yog Samiti, Rita Sharma, Asha Sharma and Vivek Malagar were among those present on the occasion.
