Patanjali Wellness Centre, Yogpeeth celebrate 10th International Yoga Day

HARIDWAR, June 21: On the directions of Yoga Rishi, Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishan, Patanjali Wellness along with Patanjali Yogpeeth here today celebrated the tenth International Yoga Day on the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society’.
On this occasion Swami Ramdev said that with the help of Yoga and Yoga Integrated Treatment System the incurable diseases can be cured.
He said that we should not reserve Yoga for self and society but should extend its benefits to the entire universe.
“What the medical system of the world and Governments across the world have failed to do was done by the prominent saint of Yoga—Maharishi Patanjali,” Ramdev maintained adding: “In our 35 years journey of Yoga, we have disseminated to masses the 21 practices of Yogic Jogging, 12 exercises of Surya Namaskar, 20-25 practices of conventional exercise, Pranayam (breathing exercises) etc.”
He further said that Patanjali Yogpeeth has taken the Yoga to 200 countries of the world and today over 200 crore people perform Yoga to remain healthy.
Speaking on the occasion Acharya Balkrishan said that Yoga is one of the supreme blessings for our country.
He said that Yoga is the art to live and to change the lives.
On this occasion people from 200 villages of Haridwar and Roorkee under Patanjali Yog Committee also participated in the programme.
Prominent among those present on this occasion were Patanjali Women Yog Committee Chief Central Incharge, Sadhvi Devpriya, Chief Central Incharge, Rakesh, Swami Parmarthdev, Patanjali Research Institute Chief Scientist, Dr. Anurag Varshney, Chief General Manager, Brigadier T.C Malhotra, Human Resource Head, Tarun Rajput, Patanjali Ayurved College Faculty, Prof. Anil Yadav and others.
