KATHUA, Aug 4: Patanjali Yogpeeth today celebrated Herbal day by distributing saplings of medicinal plants to the people.
The function was organized under the leadership of Kapoor Singh Jamwal, District President of Patanjali Yogpeeth Organisation run by renowned Yog Guru Ramdev. Every year this organisation celebrates birthday of Acharya Bal Krishan as Herbal Day.
On the occasion, Dr Bharat Bhushan, Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur-Sarthal Development Authority was the chief guest while Om Parkash Mishra, Prabhari of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Shahjabad, Gorkhpur, Uttar Pradesh was the guest of honour.
Dr Bharat Bhushan said that Yog Guru Ramdev and his disciple Acharya Bal Krishan created mass awareness on Yoga and the medicinal value of the plants and herbs. The plants and herbs with multiple beneficial effects can help in a bigger way to ameliorate the condition of our aged, infirm and ailing people, he added.
Singh Jamwal said that they have been planting and distributing medicinal plants to the people on various occasions and especially on August 4 every year which coincides with the birthday of Acharya Bal Krishan.
Dr Vishal Malagar, Spokesman of Patanjali Yogpeeth highlighted the importance of herbs and medicinal plants in people’s lives.
Dr CR Munday, Deputy Director (retd) of Indian Systems of Medicine Department, prominent followers of the Organisation and large number of citizens were present on the occasion.
