HARIDWAR, Sept 28: The soil testing machine ‘Dharti Ka Doctor’ was awarded a certification by the Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, part of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), at Patanjali University.
During the event, Swami Ramdev, the president of Patanjali Yogpeeth, described the machine as an advanced tool capable of providing precise soil test results quickly and at low cost.
Ramdev emphasized that the rampant use of chemicals is polluting and degrading the fertility of agricultural land. However, this problem can be remedied by timely soil testing using this machine. He reaffirmed his commitment to doubling farmers’ income and said this soil testing machine will be a significant aid in achieving that goal.
Acharya Balkrishna, Managing Director of Bharuwa Agriscience, explained that ‘Dharti Ka Doctor’ tests 12 essential parameters of soil health, including major nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, as well as secondary nutrients such as boron, iron, zinc, copper, and manganese. The machine has been granted a patent and CE certification by the Government of India.
He noted that Patanjali’s scientists developed the machine after years of extensive research, making it a boon for farmers by providing the best possible solutions. Acharya Balkrishna added that the machine is extremely easy to use and can provide fertilizer recommendations-whether chemical, organic, or mixed-based on crop needs.
Dr Rajendra Kumar Yadav, Director of the Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, stated that ‘Dharti Ka Doctor’ will prove highly useful for both farmers and the Government’s soil health initiatives. He said the machine can accurately assess all 12 parameters used to determine soil quality, making it the first of its kind in the country.
Dr Arvind Kumar Rai, Principal Scientist and HoD at the Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, along with Dr Ashok Kumar Mehta from Patanjali, Dr Rishi Kumar, Director of Bharuwa Agriscience, and other prominent scientists like Vikrant Verma, Hemant Tyagi, and Dr Ashutosh Gupta were also present at the event.
