AKHNOOR, Mar 27: In order to aware the general public especially youth about ill effects of drug menace, Police in Akhnoor organized a rally under the banner of “Drug Free Akhnoor”
The rally of about 300 students from different schools, college along with locals was flagged from Punnu Chowk Akhnoor by DIG Shakti Patak along with SP Rural Rahul Charak. SDM Akhnoor Akhil Sadhotra, SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma, Corporator Rakesh Malhotra,SHO Akhnoor, SHO Gharota and large number of locals.
The rally culminated at Kameshwar Temple Akhnoor.
Students/ participants were holding banners and placards in their hands with messages against substance abuse and raised slogans against the social evil and pledged to join their hands to eradicate this menace from the society and make Akhnoor drugs free.
DIG Shakti Pathak speaking on the occasion said that the issue of drug abuse is a challenge before the country. It is the duty of all stakeholders to join in creating awareness about the illegal use of drugs and the measures to be taken to prevent this menace. He advised the parents to pay keen attention towards the behaviour of their children & not to put any psychological pressure upon them which could attract them towards drug menace.
The SP Rural said the main aim of the rally is to spread awareness about ill effects of drug abuse and its consequences. He appealed all to join hands in making society drug free.
