UDHAMPUR, Oct 1: Ranbir Singh Pathania, BJP spokesperson, addressed a mammoth meeting of party cadres at Manwal near here, today.
He said that construction of 138 meter span double lane (super structure) motorable bridge on Majalta link road over Gambhir Nalah at the cost of Rs 16.50 crore will start very soon. He also congratulated people of Majalta on sanction of extra academic block for PHC Majalta at the cost of Rs 4.50 crore. He informed that proposals for the double lane bridge were framed in 2015-16 and hospital project in 2018-19.
he said that it is a historically proven fact that Manwal had been the largest developed township of North India of early medieval period. It had been the capital of Duggar Pradesh. Even the word ‘Dogra’ derives its origin from ‘Dui’ ‘Garta” (which is Mansar and Surinsar). Had Manwal been developed properly by ASI and authorities-that-be in J & K, it would have been a modal visiting place for studying stone-masonry, idol-sculpture and temple-building of early medieval period. The strong room preserved by ASI has many durable, artifacts and idols and articles excavated from underneath which can be put on display attracting great number of tourists and aesthetic-protheters. But on these fronts, despite a voluble inflow of funds from Central Government, ASI has been less effective in nurturing Manwal as a state-of-art destination for tourists across the globe. No state-of-art museum has been developed by ASI in order to showcase durable artifacts and excavated idols and articles. He called for developing it on the pattern of National Museum, New Delhi and the Red Fort Archaeological Museum.
He complained of slipshod and erratic electricity bills which have caused much of inconvenience to the general consumers. He called upon the PDD authorities to immediately rectify all those wrongly sent bills and bring them within a certain ceiling. He also called for regulating the provision of grains under public distribution system at fair price shops.
Those who were present included Capt( retd) Gopal Singh Mankotia and Mohan Lal Sharma Mandal presidents and others.
