MAJALTA, Jan 3: While conducting a one- day tour of the area and addressing a series of gatherings at various villages of Majalta , former MLA and BJP spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania called for fast-tracking work-execution on developmental front, which are going on with a snail’s pace.
The public meetings were held at Jansal, GS Banj, Panjian, Babay and adjoining villages and Pathania was accompanied by Rakesh Chander Sharma (DDC Ghordi), Mool Raj Bhagat (DDC Ramnagar-I), Juhi Manhas (DDC Khoon), Amit Sharma (DDC Majalta), Pinkey Devi (DDC Latti Marothi), Jattu Ram (DDC Ramnagar-II), Prikshit Singh (DDC Jaganoo) and a wide galaxy of local leaders.
Pathania further said that during his three years stint as elected legislator of the area, works worth hundreds of crores under PMGSY, CRF, languishing projects, NABARD, IDDSMT were sanctioned and started. “But given the lackluster approach of the executing agencies, it looks as if the legacy of a contractor-politician mafia which have looted and plundered Ramnagar as ceremonious as Somnath Temple by Mehmood Ghazini is still there,” he said.
The former MLA was categorical about the criminal conduct of contractor junta, allegedly sponsored by a particular political party that has been putting in tenders relatively lower rates and then playing hide and seek with works for years and years.
He further sought a detailed enquiry as to why qualitative execution of works within the stipulated time frame has not been completed while referring to Ramnagar-Chhatriari (Part-1 and 2, Thial-Chountra Mata road (u/CRF), Panchound to Chapper, Plasssan to Rang, Daler Morh to Amroh, Tagan -Sattian road, Kaghote-Dalsar road, Ramnagar-Dudu road, Thatin-Pathwar road, Sail-Mela road, Manwal-Pinger road, Battal-Barigarh road, under PMGSY/Languishing projects scheme.
He also flayed executing agencies for halfway left, sub-standard execution of work on various water supply schemes, irrigation canals, schools and hospital buildings. He questioned as to why work on 100 bedded hostel for girls at Chowki has not commenced and another 100 bedded hostel at G S Banj still lying incomplete.
Pathania called for strict action against such unscrupulous contractors and irresponsible officers who have debarred the local people from the virtual fruits of these works even as the money for these projects stands sanctioned since years back and a major portion of these works still stand unexecuted.
