UDHAMPUR, Mar 21: A massive rally at Khoon, Udhampur was organized by VDGs of district Udhampur today. The rally was organized by VDG members in collaboration with the local unit of BJP. Addressing the rally Ranbir Singh Pathania, spokesperson J&KBJP, reminded the VDGs of ‘Doda Bachao Andolan’ launched by BJP and supreme sacrifices made by its cadres during peak of militancy. He lambasted the Congress, NC, PDP and other political parties who had been again and again raising the voice of disbanding of VDCs. He was all praise for the landmark steps which have been taken by VDCs in J&K for freeing it from the clutches of militancy.
Those demanding disbanding of VDCs have been doing it to please their masters across the border, he said. He was also apprehensive of the conduct of some officers of the police who had tried to create a stalemate between the VDC SPOs and members in the last few years.
Mohan, co-convenor of VDC Cell of BJP, lambasted JKNPP for shedding crocodile tears on the issue time and again. While they remained in power, again and again, they were enjoying loaves and fishes of power. And once driven out, they are now singing sermons. He further informed that BJP led by Ravinder Raina has made it a point that the VDCs organized and setup 27 years ago are given a new shape and colour in the regime led by PM Narendra Modi. He also recalled the herculean endeavours made for strengthening the security situation in rural area.
VDCs members were all praise for the Samaritan effort of the Bharat Sarkar led by charismatic leadership of Narendra Modi. They vowed to stand by BJP in the times to come irrespective of caste, colour, creed or party considerations. The enthusiastic rally was further marked by jubilant dances, drum beatings and deafening sloganeering by the VDC members. On the occasion halwa and sweets were also distributed by the members among people who attended the rally.
Romesh Gupta, Chain Singh, Surinder Singh, Raman Khajuria, Manoj Verma, (all sarpanches), Kuldip Singh, general secretary district BJP, Shiv Ram, general secretary, Majalta BJP, Makhan Lal, vice president, Uttam Chand State vice president, VDC Union, Diwan Sharma, Sukhdev Singh, Surinder Singh, Subash Verma, Om Parkash, Ram Singh and other VDG members addressed the meeting.
