MAJALTA/RAMNAGAR, Oct 20:  R S Pathania, general secretary, Pradesh Youth Congress, has sought immediate finalization of land-compensation cases in Ramnagar and Majalta tehsils for their agricultural lands acquired for roads, Government buildings/transmission towers and other public structures.
While conducting a whirlwind tour of Neeli, Garh, Dhamma, Mansar villages (Majalta Tehsil) Dehari, Been, Kheen, Sunetar, Shumbh villages (Ramnagar Tehsil), Pathania said that years and years have elapsed by since acquisition of agricultural lands of farmers by the State Government but not even a penny has been received by affected families.

Mr Pathania has sought immediate application/extension of path-breaking Land Acquisition Bill, “The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill, 2012” which seeks to provide just and fair compensation to farmers while ensuring that no land can be aquired forcibly.
