Pathania takes stock of situation arisen due to land slides

UDHAMPUR, Sept 6: Former MLA Ramnagar RS Pathania took stock of the situation arisen due to continuous land slides in Gandhtop area of Basantgarh.
The continuous landslides has damaged as many as ten houses and posed a serious risk to as many as hundred others.
Former MLA Ramnagar RS Pathania called upon LG led dispensation to immediately call for a comprehensive survey of the area by Geological Survey of India with a view to preventing unforeseen losses to life as well as property of the people.
Not only at Gandhtop, such landslides have been witnessed in areas of Khaned, Urkhal Patian, Jansal, Chigli Chouri Ramnagar, Garh SamnaBanj, Laa and other parts of district Udhampur with losses of properties spelling out in crores, he added.
Pathania called for immediate and time bound formulation of relief cases under UTDRF with a view to compensating the losses. He called for formulation of a policy whereby all the people in the vulnerable areas as assessed by GSI should be shifted to safer areas to avoid such ugly incidents in future.
He also called for immediate provision of tents, clothing, food and all Government aids at the proposed new sites.
Pathania called for adopting a multidimensional and multifaceted approach to face situations so that such ugly incidents shall be controlled and tackled well in future.
He assured the effected family that he shall ensure that each and every iota of their loss is properly compensated and the Government agencies shall be made fully accountable and made to stand by them in this hour of distress and dismay.
Pathania was accompanied by the BDC Chairmen, Mandal President BJP Suram Chand, Shiv Charan, Rameez Sheikh, Rakesh Chander Bodhi and other activists of BJP.
