UDHAMPUR, Dec 8: MLA Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania today highlighted the need to establish Kendriya Vidyalayas in remote areas like Pancheri, Ramkot and Kakrial.
Addressing a series of meetings in the Udhampur area, Pathania said that inclusion of these remote areas would ensure quality education for children in these regions. He emphasized that the district administration had already submitted detailed proposals to the concerned authorities for consideration.
Pathania pointed out that children in these areas are often forced to rent accommodation in Udhampur and Chenani, just to have access to quality education in KVs. He stressed that such initiatives should be expedited to ensure children in these far-flung areas receive the same educational opportunities as those in more developed regions.
Meanwhile, Pathania inaugurated the blacktopping work of Goal-Baley road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). He reiterated the importance of road connectivity in a developing nation, noting that improved roads directly contribute to better access to education, healthcare, Anganwadi centers, and sports facilities. He emphasized that development needs to be carried out systematically, ensuring timely delivery of essential infrastructure in rural areas.
Pathania also voiced his concerns over the suspension of drinking water supply in the area by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) authorities. He urged the authorities to immediately provide tanker services in regions where the water supply was disrupted ensuring residents have access to clean drinking water.
The MLA was accompanied by local leaders, including Puran Chand (DDC Udhampur), Subash Sharma (Mandal Pradhan), Madan Lal (former Sarpanch of Sounthan), and a host of other prominent local figures.
