PATHANKOT: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today confirmed that weapons used by terrorists in the Pathankot airbase attack had Pakistan made marks.

He explicitly acknowledged “some lapses” but hasten to add that the security was not compromised at any stage.

After thoroughly surveying the Indian Air Force base along with IAF chief Arup Raha and other top security officials, Mr Parrikar also told media persons that the security agencies have also got leads on how and from where these terrorists managed to enter, which will be further probed by the NIA.

He declared that the actual encounter lasted for 28 hours, during which six terrorists were killed while the security forces lost seven of its personnel, including two commandos.

“DNA profiling of the terrorists will be conducted for the identification purpose. Two bodies were found in pieces in two corners,” he said.  (UNI)
