POONCH, Jan 15: A pregnant woman and five other persons were injured when an ambulance shifting a patient to Sub District Hospital Mendhar met with an accident in Kalaban area of Manmote today.  Click here to watch video
Official sources said that incident took place when a pregnant woman, Naheema Kouser (27), wife of  Ansal-ul-Haq, resident of Kalaban  was being shifted to Sub District Hospital, Mend-har from Kalaban village in ambulance No. JK12/ 8308. Near Nad-ol, due to brake failure, the ambulance went out of control. The alert driver changed the gear to control the speed and then turned the front tyre of vehicle in the side drain on hill side.
The vehicle, however, stopped but it was over turned. All the six injured including pregnant woman were shifted to SDH Mendhar. All of them were provided first aid  by the staff.
The woman delivered a male baby, who too, was said to be all right. The family lauded the efforts of the driver.
Five other injured were identified as Zahida Bi- FMPHW, wife of Mehboob Ahmed; Saleem Bi, wife of Afzal Dad; Younis Waqar, son of Mohd Naseeb, Zanib Bi, wife of Abdul Aziz  and Sagira Bi, wife of Mohd Sadeeq, all hailing from Kalaban.
BMO, Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan said that all the victims were out of danger.
