KISHTWAR, Sept 2: The only lift used to shift the patients from Emergency Ward of District Hospital Kishtwar to recovery or any other wards is not functioning from the past around a decade, owing to which the attendants of the patients have to face manifold problems while shifting their patients to respective wards.
“A lift was installed in the District Hospital Kishtwar to shift the patients to their respective wards around a decade back and presently it is not functioning and went out of order some nine years back”, official sources told Excelsior.
“The lift was were installed so that after getting initial treatment in the Emergency Ward of District Hospital, the patients can be easily shifted to the recovery or any other wards of the hospital for their further treatment”, they said.
The lift installed in the hospital came to standstill around a decade back, due to which the patients, being shifted to their respective wards have to face lot of problems, sources added.
Meanwhile, to provide better and secure services to the patients, the proposal to repair this old lift was forwarded to the Health Department. The proposal is hanging in balance for the reason best known to the higher authorities, sources added.
A senior official of the hospital informed that the proposal to repair the lift was sent to the concerned authorities.
“Delay is on the part of the concerned authorities because lift needs repair and it is only possible once the funds are released”, he added.
