JAMMU, Aug 21: The residents of Patoli Brahmana and Sharda Colony have expressed serious concern over the delaying tactics of Jal Shakti Department in connecting the overhead tank Patoli with the tube well despite the repeated pleas of the people of the area.
The local people said that the overhead tank at Sharda Colony, Patoli has been constructed over four years back and the tube well in the same area has also been commissioned a long time back but both are defunct as the authorities of Jal Shakti Department are not connecting the tube well with the overhead tank to supply the drinking water to the area with the result the people are suffering a lot.
The residents said what has been the fun of spending crores of rupees on construction of OHT and tube well when they remain unutilized totally compounding the people’s problems further.
In an appeal to Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Department the people demanded that the OHT in Sharda Colony be immediately connecting with the tube well so that the people in the area don’t face drinking water problem any more.
