Patwar Association strike enters 9th day

JAMMU, Apr 16: The revenue work all over the State has come to stand still as All J&K Patwar Association’s indefinite strike entered 9th day, here today.
The delay by the Government in resolving the agreed issues by or before March 31, 2012, has compelled the Association to resume indefinite strike.
The issues included removal of pay disparity with retrospective effect, stoppage of direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildar, enhancement of PSC Examination chances from four to eight, establishment of departmental enquiry cell, DPC of Girdawars as Naib Tehsildars, transparency in transfer policy, reorganization of Patwar Halqas, construction of Patwar Khanas and enhancement of Sair Kharcha and other allowances.
Sanjeevan Sharma, tehsil president, Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai, district president and Raman Raj Sharma, provincial president spoke on the occasion in support of their demands.
