SRINAGAR, Jan 31: Anti Corruption Bureau arrested a Patwari in Kashmir for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe.
Mohammad Abbas, Patwari Halqa Kewa, Qazigund Kulgam was arrested for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 3,500 from complainant, a spokesman of the ACB said.
It said ACB received a complaint, wherein the complainant alleged that Mohammad Abbas Patwari is demanding a bribe for providing revenue extracts.
“The complainant alleged that the accused Patwari has demanded Rs 3500 from the complainant in lieu of providing Revenue Extracts viz Intikhaab for obtaining KCC (Kisan Credit Card) loan, it added
Upon receiving the instant complaint prima facie offence was made out.
“Consequently, a case was registered at Police Station ACB Anantnag and Patwari was arrested while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3500 from the complainant,” ACB said, adding further investigations of the case is going on.
