JAMMU, Jan 8: Patwari of Halqa Tikri in Udhampur district was caught red handed by Vigilance squad while demanding and accepting bribe.
The accused Patwari, Sanjeev Kumar of Salamarahi Udhampur, was accepting a bribe of Rs 6000 from the complainant Davinder Singh of Tikri Gool for issuing revenue extract for processing the bank loan case.
He was caught red handed by the special surveillance squad of Vigilance Organization Jammu, led by DySP Rafiq Choudary in presence of independent witnesses. A case FIR under Section 5(2) of J&K PC Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Vigilance Organization Jammu.
